what to expect

On your first day of Fellowship?

Before you attend in person, you must call 604.598.0084 to give you the time you and your family can come as our services are divided proportionally to accommodate our numbers. We do have morning and afternoon services but be willing and ready to attend whichever one you are assigned to as we need to account for everyone in the building for safety and accountability reasons. Please call 604.598.0084 to get your assigned time to attend. This is not just because of COVID-19 but that is part of our structure. Without calling or emailing (family@greatlighthealingministries.org) to be given the time to come, you can be turned away. Weird right? But, in Great Light, we are highly organized.

Upon arrival, someone will greet you and direct you to hang your coats.  Please do not say you do not want to hang your coats. You must hang your coats so that you do not put it on the back of the seat to avoid covering our tithing and offering envelopes for those behind you. Please hang your coat, jackets and put your umbrellas away in the Coat Rack area located on the right-hand side of the entrance to the Sanctuary. The area of the coat racks are under surveillance to keep your items safe.

Please keep your purses and monetary items on your person always as we cannot guarantee that everyone comes to church for God and not with other motives. Only God knows everyone. Amen.

You shall be seated by our greeters. Please respect our seating arrangement as we are trying to maintain a certain order to allow a good flow to keep rowdiness away during ministration. You cannot just go and sit wherever you like as some of our seats are assigned to Ministry workers for a proper flow and orderliness.

Prepare to arrive on time as doors close 30 minutes after service starts. Please refer to “Contact Us” for more information about service times and days.

Right at the entrance of The Sanctuary, we have “Resource Centre” with all kinds of information including contact information form and registration forms for different programs and activities.

We encourage you to put your full names and contact information on your offering and tithes should you expect tax receipt for your giving.

If you are in need of services and support, we do have community services to attend to your needs. You do not have to be a member to access our services. But, our services are Scriptural based to serve God’s children. That is our priority. For more information, you can call 778.328.7729 or visit us at www.glhcommunityservices.org or email us at info@glhcommunityservices.org.

After service we have “Reception Services” where you can get refreshments. Please ask greeters for direction. We try to minimize distraction during services so please use washrooms located behind “Reception Services” Door.

Exiting During Service in Progress. If you have to leave before service ends, please exit by the second door on the south side, leading to the coat rack area.

Are you in need of emotional support, children, individuals and family programs and services, you can obtain rack cards for different services and programs at the Reception, or you can also visit us at www.glhcommunityservices.org details on what we are doing.

During Ministration Rules

We do not take videos or audio record the services. Our services are only for the purpose of spiritual development for our loyal friends and families around the world and locally as well. We do not drink or eat in our Sanctuary so ask where you can keep your drinks and belongings during ministration.

We do not entertain cellular phone uses during ministration to avoid distracting our priest when he is ministering in the Holy Ghost.

No smoking and drinking around our Ministry or Services premises, not even near our gate outside.

No questioning, making suggestions/contributions or talking while our Priest is ministering.

You are not to approach the Altar or go to the front side while The Priest is ministering without being called upon.

Honour and Reverence God’s Spirit

Step 1

How to Receive from the Prophet of God when ministering to you

When you are called to be prayed for or ministered to, please be respectful and bow or kneel down for prayers (if you have knee problems you can keep standing). It is not man worship, it is called reverencing The Spirit of God at work in a man.

Step 2

How to receive from the Holy Spirit while in Service

  1. Be open minded and hearted towards this Ministry place God has led you to. “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” Revelations 3:20 NKJV).

Step 3

Things you must expect God to do for you while you are here

There are many ways for God to touch His people, however only few understands it and even very few will do it. As the scriptures says in Matthew 7:24Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Things I must Expect

Personal Take on Your First Visit

Chances are you may be excited about the service and chances are you may not be, depending on how you take the Word of God. However, if you have been praying for God to do something new in your life, then it is the sole reason you are here.  Settling in a new environment can be challenging, just like the first time you started your new job and went to class for a course.  It comes with anxieties, judgmental minded, questioning and a whole sort of things. For this reason, we have a team dedicated to help you settle. You will be assigned to someone who can help answer all your questions and address all your fears and uncertainties.

We do not expect anyone to have fears and concerns coming into God’s House, but we are also not to fool ourselves that satan is always in the business of trying to deceive, disrupt the plans of God and to take us back to what we have always known that may not have been of help to us. We also know that satan fights God’s children each time they come in contact with anointing/power, especially in a place where God has great things for them. Usually, people are comfortable in settling in a place of no power or breakthroughs but the moment they come to their promise land, satan barrages them and taunts them until they lose the joy of coming into a place of deliverance.

Of course, going to a place unfamiliar to you comes with lots of adjustments to make at first. Thus, many people are discouraged to go anywhere new or try a new anything. Even though you are aware that GLHMI has what you need to move forward, still you are struggling to come or try to commit. Familiarity brings comfort but it does not change our situations or make God to do anything different for us. For God to change Abraham’s situation or condition He commanded him to leave his father’s land into an unknown place (Genesis 12:1). In order for God to accept Abraham’s sacrifice He sent him to a mountain, a place that took 3 days to arrive (Genesis 9) and in obedience he did. In Genesis 12 God told him to move to Canaan the promise land. A time came, even though in the land of the promise came famine and God told him to go to Egypt But there was a famine in Canaan, and it was so bad that Abram went farther south to Egypt, to live there for a while (Genesis 12:10 onwards). For God to encounter him with blessings each time, Abraham had to go to a people he was not familiar with.  Throughout all these journeys came with their own challenges, but Abraham believed God and continued to persist and God blessed him because He knew it was God who gave him the commandments of movements.

It is better to get God than to get any other things, because when you get God you gain command of things

Beware of the antics of satan as you try to settle

We are not sure how you ended up in Great Light, but we bet you it was in your divine destiny for it to happen. This means, the devil is going to fight you so hard, so you need to ask The Holy Spirit of God to help you.

This means that you have to be vigilant and beware of the antics of the devil.  This also means that you must be prayerful and ask the Holy Spirit to help you with your new choice or decision. The Bible says “Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them (2 Corinthians 4:4 NKJV).

Some of the ways satan blindfolds the eyes and blocks the heart is entering into the hearts of those who we think love and care for us to begin to discourage us from going to a place of God. They start telling you things that would sour your heart and kill your joy of your newly found spiritual home.  Our prophet says that if satan stops telling lies and do bad things then he is not actually satan but an angel. The devil knows how to hold anyone in darkness and in bondage and it is important that children of God know or perceive when satan is at work. Thus, The Bible tells us to Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41 NKJV). If the Holy Spirit of God is in you, your spirit will be telling you that this is the place for you, even when your friends and family members are saying otherwise. If you find yourself in such dilemma, do not hesitate to contact us at welcomehome@greatlighthealingministries.org for support. You can also call 604.598.0084. We are here for you and to work with you to be settled and established so that God can visit you like never before.
